It takes a minute to learn the commands drontier combination of one and two finger movesbut once I did, using the shuttle strip was quite intuitive.

Why be stuck with just a keyboard and mouse when AlphaTrack is such a great enhancement at a great price? Rated 5 out of 5 by Rotron74 from Great product! Subscribe for free here. It wasn't very sleek, it required a wall wart, the name wasn't that cool, there wasn't a display to indicate which track or parameter was selected, and the buttons were kind of hard to push. Support for more applications will be added regularly.
The encoders provide quick control of pans, sends, EQ, plug-ins, and automation. The AlphaTrack is now an indispensible tool, sitting right on top of my keyboards where I can easily access it during a session.
Whether to work with a control surface or not is a personal decision. Of course, there's a whole lot more you can do with the AlphaTrack, and each user will find a way to make it suit the demands of her or his situation.
